# Install the iOS SDK

> Add the Xulo Swift package to your app and, for images and the long-press view, to its two notification extensions.

URL: https://docs.xulo.io/ios/install
iOS SDK version: 0.1.4

## Requirements

- Xcode 16 or later
- iOS 15 or later
- A physical iPhone for a real push. The simulator can call the API. It does not receive remote notifications.

## Add the package

In Xcode, choose **File → Add Package Dependencies** and enter:

```text
https://github.com/XuloAI/xulo-ios-sdk
```

Use version 0.1.4, up to the next major version.

The package downloads a closed binary. It does not compile the SDK source.

## Choose the targets

The package has two products.

| Product | Target |
| --- | --- |
| `Xulo` | The app |
| `XuloExtension` | Notification Service and Notification Content |

> **Warning:** Keep Xulo out of the extensions
>
> Do not add `Xulo` to either extension. The extensions use `XuloExtension` only.

A text push works with the app target alone. An image, and the long-press view, need both extensions. [Rich push](https://docs.xulo.io/ios/rich-push) sets them up.

## Check the version

```swift
import Xulo
print(Xulo.sdkVersion) // "0.1.4"
```

## Next

1. [APNs setup](https://docs.xulo.io/ios/apns-setup): give Xulo your Apple key.
2. [Capabilities](https://docs.xulo.io/ios/capabilities): Push Notifications and the App Group.
3. [Initialize](https://docs.xulo.io/ios/initialize): start the SDK when the app launches.
